Purpose
BUSH TV specialises in Indigenous Community Based Social Marketing and media. Our work is based on current research models and supported by the latest multimedia production gear. We develop community based social marketing strategies and produce media and communications campaigns designed to change behaviours, increase awareness and promote messages in Australia's Indigenous communities. BUSH TV utilises 85% Indigenous crew on all its research and production work.
Training Partnership
Via a partnership formed between BUSH TV, a privately owned television production company, and SunshineCoast TAFE (formerly Cooloola Sunshine Institute of TAFE), this training initiative has successfully delivered nationally accredited training and brought further education and employment opportunities to young Indigenous people based in regional Queensland. The partnership began with the delivery of Certificate III in Broadcasting (Television). As the only TAFE institute registeredto deliver Broadcasting training in Queensland, CSIT was well placed to establish a partnership with BUSH TV that enabled us to utilise their industry contacts, expertise and established Indigenous networks to successfully deliver this training.
Both parties bring to the table an innovative approach, a willingness to communicate and problem solve and a flexible, go forward attitude. This mix has proven essential to the successes achieved to date and provides a solid springboard for future initiatives between BUSH TVand Sunshine Coast TAFE.
From the beginning our goal has been to work together to create and deliver meaningful training andemployment opportunities for Indigenous young people. While initially this training and employment was linked to television production, we have increased our scope while remaining true to our intent to influence the reconciliation process by producing and delivering good news stories about Indigenous Australians - in particular Indigenous stories by Indigenous media producers.
